Romano claims Spurs have all but secured the signing of a ‘huge’ outfielder

Fabrizio Romano has claimed Tottenham Hotspur will complete the permanent signing of Cristian Romero ‘very soon’.

Indeed, the transfer insider considers the deal ‘100%’ done, even praising Spurs for the ‘huge signing’.

The Argentina international joined Spurs last season from Atalanta on a first loan deal with an option to buy.

Romero was a huge achievement at N17, helping Tottenham secure a place in the Premier League’s top four.

Indeed, The Athletic claim Spurs’ Premier League rivals believe Romero is in the same bracket as Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Now Romano has stated on his YouTube channel that for all intents and purposes the 24-year-old is now a Tottenham player.

“Cristian Romero, the must buy clause will be activated very soon,” Romano revealed.

“He is 100% a £40m Tottenham player.

“Congratulations to Tottenham, because he was a huge signing. Really smart and interesting.

“One of the most important players”

Really, there was no way Spurs would let Romero through.

He dazzled in his first season in the Premier League, and he still has plenty of room to grow as a player.

“He’s absolutely brilliant,” Tottenham legend Ossie Ardiles told Tottenham’s official website.

“I was incredibly happy when he arrived at the club, because his CV was magnificent. I didn’t see him play much in Italy. But he was voted the best defender in Serie A, and so on.

“I have seen him play a lot for Argentina though and in a very, very good team at the moment, he is one of the most important players. Definitely number one in defence.

“I was happy when he arrived. I knew it would take a bit of time to adapt, but he adapted quickly. He is also from my hometown in Argentina, Cordoba.
